Had a free afternoon, read this post, and immediately headed to Bitter Pops (my hands are covered in juices as I type this). Really solid burger, crispy edges, melt-in-your-month center and solid fries. Excellent rec, joining the paid gang after this!

Weird more people don't talk about it, right?! I'm so glad you enjoyed the burger and got some mileage out of the newsletter, that makes me feel really good.

I'll see your dijonnaise, and raise you a Mustmayostardayonnaise. Always thinking of Mr. Show when making a sandwich.

Just commenting on the intro that *I* also just went to Dear Margaret for our anniversary this year (not our first anniversary but first time going there for an anniversary) and wrote about it. https://open.substack.com/pub/inoueian/p/new-anniversary-spot Then Amy Cavanaugh comments that she’s been there for *her* anniversary. I guess this is a very normal idea. Anyway, congrats on one year!

On Bitter Hops, I’ve been there a couple times to buy beer but haven’t really stayed for food. I really should.

As you know, this place is a longtime favorite of mine. One of many reasons I miss Chicago.

I'm glad they earned a spot in The Cut! I'm also glad you mentioned the Oklahoma inspiration, because they do a "proper" Oklahoma special as a monthly now and then, and I wondered how it could be much different than their house burger!

Now to dig out my 8-year-old frequent drinker tokens that they haven't given out in ages to see if they'll still let me cash in when I visit in a couple of weeks...

So many treasures to uncover at Bitter Pops! Still need to try their coffee & shop! (P.S. Thanks for the mention - I am thoroughly honored!)
