Glad you weren’t silent about your appreciation for Bob-O’s and Jay’s. And happy birthday to you! I hope you get to shove the most delicious cake up your own butthole.

I’m 72 years old and if I’m gonna have a beef sandwich it’s gonna be a combo. Why hold back, you trying to live forever?

Hi guys - just FYI, I updated the Party Cut Map to include February and March's spots, up to and including both of these beeves. This is my birthday gift to Dannis.

This wonderful post has me Jonesing for a beef- how do these compare to Al’s? ☮️❤️🍷

The beef at Al's (at least the original one on Taylor) is much more spiced. That one seems to have clove or cinnamon in it, which makes it super different. But it also has a fresher giardinera, heavy on the celery and red pepper flakes.

Happy birthday, Dannis, and happy birthday to a bigger sausage balanced out with sturdier beef.

My dad grew up down the road from the old Jay's location on Irving, so that's the beef of my childhood. Managed a visit just before they closed it for good.

Love Bob-O's, too--esp for the soggies on the menu.

I'm entranced by both. Just wish we lived within lunching distance!!!

I love Jays having discovered them when I lived in Bucktown. Agree on the two main points of the thinness of the beef and the jus, oh that jus. Worth the drive for me.
