Hello, everyone!
Today’s edition of The Party Cut will be the last one of 2024. It’s been an admittedly hard year for us (for so many reasons), but continuing to write the newsletter has been a bright spot for me. We’ve made visits to some classic pizzerias, found cheap dry-aged burgers (for $8?!), and finally eaten at the Mars Cheese Castle’s hot food counter. We also tried some magnificent corned beef hash, visited a diner that feels like it’s been preserved in amber, and packed in some Serbian food.
Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere. Just hoping to close December out with some family time. Hopefully you will too. Today’s edition of The Party Cut takes us to a genre of restaurant that’s synonymous with Chicago, and it’s one that Davida and I haven’t actually been to yet for the purpose of the newsletter.
Yep, it’s a steakhouse. And the best part is, it’s not in the clusterfuck neighborhoods of River North or the Loop, yet it serves some of the hallmark classics you’ll get in some of those places. At a much better price, too.
