Hello, everyone!
Before I dive in today, I’ve got a small announcement: I’ll be cooking at a charity event in just over a week from now, on Tuesday, March 28. I’m supporting John Carruthers of Crust Fund Pizza, who if you didn’t know by now, makes some of the best thin crust pies in Chicago (just ask Kenji). John’s pizza is normally extraordinarily difficult to get since he’s a one-man operation, so now would be a great time for you to join us.
We’ll be joined by Billy Z. of Tripping Billy fame, Dragged Through The Garden, and chef Josh Kulp of Honey Butter Fried Chicken, who’ll all be bringing some really delicious dishes. Beer and wine will be provided by Revolution Brewing and Middle Brow, which are both hometown favorites of mine. Tickets are $100 (they’re moving quickly), and you know what?
It’d be great to see you in person.
To add to the fun, this is a live TV watching event. Carruthers’ episode of a very popular cooking competition show on Food Network (yes, probably the one you’re thinking of) is airing, so we’ll all be standing around in suspense to see what went down that day. Hope to see you all there.
Speaking of pizza, let’s go try a completely different type of square-cut pie: a grandma slice.
