Hey, all!
First of all, thanks for the warm welcome you gave
last week. I can tell just how much she’s loved, and I’m glad we can give her nuanced reviews a proper home. But this week I’m back at the helm visiting already-established places that have plenty to offer, and I sought out to answer one nagging question I had. Does Chicago have a place that’s known for a giant pretzel?
It seems like an awfully specific itch to scratch, but it all started when I woke up one morning absolutely craving one (weird, I know). You’d think I’d have some idea, because soft pretzels are one of Davida’s favorite snacks, but we don’t get them terribly often. When we do, it’s usually at a movie or a ballpark for a quick munch. So I did what any Chicago food enthusiast would do, which is immediately search /r/chicagofood on Reddit.
Thanks to the hivemind of the internet, I got a hit.
I found a beautiful-looking specimen from a restaurant in Lincoln Park that serves, you guessed it, German food. I’m guessing some of you will immediately know which spot I’m talking about too. It’s known for its beer hall atmosphere, but damn if that photo of that pretzel wasn’t calling our name, so Davida and I grabbed our things and headed right out for lunch.
