Today we’re tackling a meal that Davida and I rarely ever go out for, and that’s brunch. We’re allergic to the idea of leaving the house prior to noon on Saturday and Sunday (it’s a serious condition), which is why you’ll rarely see brunch on the newsletter. Bottomless mimosas might be the way to get some of you out of the house, but I’d rather stay in bed, also bottomless.

And just a housekeeping note—the newsletter’s off next week. Davida and I are headed up to Wisconsin this coming weekend for a family gathering, and I can’t find a way to make our schedule work so we can have our party-cut pizza and eat it too.
Now that the fun stuff is out of the way, back to brunch.
While Davida and I were out to eat last weekend, we ran into a chef friend of mine who owns a pretty popular restaurant up in Avondale. He mentioned that they’d be re-launching their brunch menu, so I made a mental note to stop in when we had some time. The restaurant recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in business, so you know they must doing something right.
